Heiko Laux & Teo Schulte – “Polyrhythm” out now

BUY NOW ON BEATPORT

Heiko Laux was one of the very first artists to grace the Rejected catalogue with his double-header “Mirabella / Zeitluke” back in 2008. Renowned for his emotional and powerful productions, Heiko is also the owner and driving force behind the legendary German imprint, Kanzleramt.

The success of Heiko and his label is the result of an incredible level of musical consistency and it is this quality that has kept both at the forefront of modern electronic music since 1994. 2011 has seen Laux in imperiously productive form and whilst his techno persona has shone on the likes of Soma, Truesoul and of course Kanzleramt, we have also seen him heading into deeper and slower territory on releases such as “Can’t Unspill The Milk” his co-production with Teo Schulte on Suol.

Teaming up with Teo once again and returning to Rejected for the first time since 004, Heiko presents a stunning trio of mixes of, “Polyrhythm.”

Rejected look to round out the summer and call in the autumn with a track that has been igniting floors all season for label chiefs Edwin Oosterwal and Joris Voorn. “Mike Loves The Horn” also sees a Rejected debut for two artists who individually have rapidly risen to the top of their game.

Canadian producer and Rawthentic label boss Carlo Lio has enjoyed a whirlwind couple of years. As an artist his sound sits proud within the far reaching realms of Techno and Tech-House. Having spent the summer enjoying the delights of his Barcelona base, he also found time to step into the studio with friends, one of which being, Coyu.  Spanish producer Coyu has followed a similar musical trajectory to become one of the most in demand young producers of today. As a label owner he has also seen his Suara imprint go from strength to strength and become a home to many an established name.

“Mike Loves The Horn” finds the pair in full party mode. Borrowing heavily from the legendary Jon Cutler, we are treated to a funky guitar riff, which is soon overpowered by the aforementioned ‘Horn’. Both underpinned by the strongest of kickdrums. Edwin Oosterwal steps up on the remix and takes the original on a twisted run. A blunted filtered bass pulses throughout, backing a fearsome kick drum as the original’s guitar is fed through the wah wah. Fine performances from all involved…It’s yours!

Deetron – “Starblazer” on Rejected!

Whilst we are used to finding the lush anthemic techno of Deetron on our sister label Green. We couldn’t be more excited to be welcoming the Swiss artist today with two fresh cuts and a debut, for Rejected.

More suited a Rejected double-header you will struggle to find, as Deetron delivers in outstanding peak time fashion. “Starblazer” growls and grooves from the off. The snare rolls announce the piano, and we are treated to an escalating riff, culminating in a classic ‘hands in the air’ moment. Bass and piano lead the way on the flip too, as “Solar Surge” certainly brings the heat as its oldskool dubby bassline rolls along and its piercing key riff stab throughout.

Both tracks are set to have a major impact on the summer’s floor, as of course one would expect from Deetron productions.
